what makes a diamond special?

  • WHAT MAKES A DIAMOND SPECIAL?

The very word itself conjures up hundreds of impressions: beautiful, precious, rare, desirable, sparkling token of love. Conceived deep within the core of the earth and brought to the surface by a volcanic eruption, most of the diamonds sparkling on fingers today are more than 100 million years old!

What really makes these diamonds special

Beauty

 — the internal fire and beautiful colourlessness of the diamond have made this precious gemstone most prized since ages. Each stone’s mosaic characteristics cannot be duplicated, and no two diamonds can ever be similar. Each stone, like its owner, is bestowed with a personality and character uniquely of its own.

Durability

 — the diamonds are the hardest substances known to mankind, making it resistant to deterioration. When handled properly and with special care, diamond jewellery can be worn daily and passed on as an heirloom to the other generation.

Rarity

 — although many new resources for diamonds are being discovered, the supply of these shining rocks remains limited. This is quite amazing to know that more than 250 tons of ore are needed to be blasted, crushed and processed to yield just one carat of rough diamond. Nevertheless, only 20 percent of all rough diamonds are suitable for cutting and jewellery making.

Enduring Value

 — Just like many other precious things, prices of diamonds fluctuate, but it is important to understand that these sparkling rocks still retain value after years of being worn.
